Lead Generation Websites

Lead Generation Websites are websites involved in attracting the interest of a potential customer, capturing her contact and interest information, and contacting her with a product offering in order to make a sale.

In a way, everyone who owns any business does this. But lead generation websites often earn money by directing these leads to a third-party merchant who contacts the lead with a product offering. The lead generation website owner may earn income from the merchant on a “per-lead” or “per-action” basis.

For example, a website may attract visitors looking for car insurance quotes. The website owner then collects interested leads’ information and delivers this data to one or more car insurance providers who then contact the leads with insurance quotes. The website owner who supplied the leads may then be compensated per lead. Or he may be compensated when a lead signs up for a car insurance plan from one of the providers.
