Deindexed

August 01, 2014  |     |     |   0 Comment

Being deindexed in search engine marketing refers to a domain name and its web pages being removed from a search engine’s index of web pages. As such, visitors who search for the website on the search engine will not find it.

Deindexing (sometimes referred to as de-listing) can happen if the website violates the search engine’s rules. Or it may happen because a website owner requests that the domain name or certain web pages be removed from the search engine’s index.

It is often simply described as being banned from a search engine.
