Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is a relatively new term coined in 2005. It refers to Internet discounts offered by retailers on the Monday after Thanksgiving in the U.S. It aims to encourage people to purchase products online after Black Friday.

As Internet sales continue to match and even surpass traditional in-store retail sales in some areas, it was inevitable that retailers would offer online discounts as well. These discounts target individuals who don’t want to deal with the rush on Black Friday. As such, it’s a more comfortable way of shopping than going into stores on the Black Friday weekend.
