Crowdsourcing involves obtaining news about current events from non-traditional sources online such as blogs, videos, or pictures posted by ordinary website users instead of traditional news outlets.
With most Internet users engaged in some form of social media, more and more people are receiving their news from other people within their social media networks. In fact, in some cases, users often disseminate news about their local environment before professional news organization get access to this information.
