Chattel Mortgage

December 09, 2013  |     |     |   0 Comment

A chattel is movable personal property that can be used as collateral for a loan.

In a chattel mortgage, the lender thus has a lien against the chattel until the entire loan has undergone full amortization and is paid off by the borrower. This can be seen in loans secured in website deals.
