Capital Expenditure

December 09, 2013  |     |     |   0 Comment

Capital expenditure or capex is the capital used to purchase or maintain the physical assets of a business such as real estate and equipment.

Most website businesses don’t have high capital expenditures as the most valuable assets are intangible assets such as copyrights and patents. But in the case of very large websites, the business may need to acquire or upgrade a dedicated server to host the website. This would qualify as capex.
