Use Your Voice to Close Website Deals

As website buyers/sellers, we’re known for hiding behind the anonymity provided by our computers. We send emails and use pseudonyms on forums. But the most powerful tool in a website deal is your human voice on a phone.

I remember listing a premium domain name for sale on a website years ago. I got dozens of emailed offers but not one phone call even though my contact information was available publicly. While I spent days going back and forth with potential buyers, an assertive buyer could have picked up the phone, called me, and closed the deal in a 15-minute conversation. And then we would handle the paperwork and payment transactions online.

As a website broker, I start the inquiry process with an email if the other party’s phone number is unavailable, but then I quickly ask for a phone number. Why? Because despite all the great communication technology invented, people subconsciously respond best to a human voice on a phone. No technology can beat the human voice.

The human connection closes website deals. If you call, you’re no longer just a few lines of text on a computer screen. You’re now a real warm human being who is serious about closing the deal. You can quickly establish a connection with the other party and even reach a verbal agreement before all the other anonymous buyers/sellers get their emails and messages read.

In addition, you’d be surprised by the amount of extra information you can get from a buyer/seller when you speak to him or her personally. There’s only so much someone can write on a computer screen. You can uncover what the other party really wants out of the deal that they didn’t state in their listing.

Deals are completed faster when people connect with each other. In this age of text messages, social media, and emails, that old phone technology still connects people better than any other technology.

So, pick up the phone. Make the call. Close your deal. Or let us do it all for you. Contact Us, your website brokers, today.
